This week list included.... #1 Stool with Hooked Top #2 Old Tin Funnel #3 Putz (or style like) Lamb/sheep #4 Crow on a stick #5 Wooden Cigar Mold #6 Silhouette Box
#7- Bero’s Bonus- Pure Maple Syrup Sign or OLD Syrup Can
Lucky for me you only need 4 0f the 7. I did not have a cigar mold or a maple syrup sign. I am sure I could find one living in New England but for me I wanted to use items I had. I have enough trouble buying to much without needing it to start adding scavenger items!! lol...
My stool with hooked rug. I made this rug and tacked it to the stool top for a punch of color.
my old tin funnel
Putz sheep ....I have yet to get real ones but here is my knock off along with his friends.
crow on a stick...I have some outside but these 2 were inside. I made the one on the old chair spindle, the other one was a gift .
On a different note I wanted to share my latest find. The mortar and pestle. I just loved the character of the burn mark. I found it at my favorite antique shop so I was not surprised when she mentioned on her own that that was what she liked about the piece as well! This is where I put it.
Today Misi choose the theme of stripes. I didn't really think I had stripes but I guess I did! Make sure to head on over to Gable House Musings blog to follow the chain. I think these wavy lines should count as well. i love this piece and if you do too head over to Misis selling blog and get one for yourself!!
Saturday was a wonderful day spent with girlfriends and Antiques. What more can you ask for? We headed out early to the Country Antiques show in Danielson Ct. I am one to just enjoy the day and not take pictures but luckily Linda *Behind My Red Door* knew I was going and reminded me she wanted to see pictures. Here are the few I took. I saw this butter mold and wanted it so much. Those are my initials, maiden name. My husband always writes A.F. +R.H. The price tag prevented it from coming home with me but I cannot get it out of my mind!! I did bring home two treasure from this show. The spoon is so smooth from being used. This wonderful board was a great price in fact I saw one like it at a shop later in the day for $70.00 more than what I paid and truly wasn't as nice. After the show we headed to other antique shops in the area. I saw so many wonderful things but it was love at first site when I laid eyes on this piece!! I had seen a piece like it on a photo shoot for the magazine and thought I hope someday I could own a piece like it. It is a childs size step back. I have not decided where it will live in my home yet so this is the picture from the shop. The pure joy it brought to my heart seems wrong since it is only a "item" but I tell you it is better than any drug they could sell. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well.
Thank you Misi for hosting such fun ideas. You all know from Tuesdays post that I bought a new large piece that of course caused me to re arrange things. This morning it dawned on me I moved my scavenger spot!!!! I thought about drooping out but decided it was worth it to drag the black table back to its original spot to take pictures each week!! LOL..I believe this hunt may be addicting!!
This week I needed a childs chair.
A Piece of Blue willow.
.A wooden toy boat.
A colonial picture of boy and girl.
A corn dryer.
A metal/tin tree.
A yoke...unfortunately I only had the kind found in my morning egg!
I just love Tuesdays! The theme for today is * Recently Acquired *. Oh is this perfect for me. I love to shop/hunt call it what you will ,I call it joy! Be sure to head over to Gable House Musings to see what everyone else posts. Saturday My husband picked up a new to me piece from a Local shop. Homestead Primitives. It is a wonderful shop in Fitchburg that has introduced quality second hand/antiques and such to compliment what her shop already carried. click on the name to see the store. It is a large piece and holds so much. I have a outdated stereo that is a eye sore but works so why replace it. Look how great I have just about hidden it. I went to a antique shop with my Mom and "found" this reproduction redware dish and a redware mold shown here. And at another stop this great basket. I found this beautiful butter churn, well bought rather than found but the price was good!!
Look at this wonderful sign I recieved from Barbara English owner of the Gingham Goose in Rochester Ma. It means the world to me. Click Gingham goose for more info. what a great week but one more treasure... I got a package from Misi. Look at the BEAUTIFUL wax fruit she sent. I LOVE it!!!! be sure and click on her store link when you head over. Thank you so much Misi for this wonderful gift as well as hosting these fun chains for all of us. xox
